JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 DEMO Virtual Machine

Rating: 5.0/5 (6 votes cast)

JDE 9.1 ScreensFor those having issues with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 Standalone installation on their machines, here is a VM pre-configured and ready to use.

First of all: Your host machine must be running a 64 bit (x64) operating system and must have VM hardware acceleration present and enabled in your BIOS.

The entire VM is divided into 20×700MB pieces. Download all parts, use 7-zip (Open-Source Freeware) or any Zip Tool to de-compress the files and import it in Virtual Box 4.1.8 or above. To do that, choose the first file (DEMOJDE91.zip.001) and use the option Extract to… and point to a folder. The 7-Zip will do it automatically for you.

Get it while it’s hot!

The Windows password is: password

The VM final size is about 82.1GB when imported, so, if you don’t have much disk space, it’s time to buy a new hard disk!

Update! I changed from Skydrive (Microsoft) to MEGA, because the slow responsiveness regarding downloading time, and now you CAN download all files in one shot. And also, the VM was updated with the new Stand Alone DEMO found in Oracle e-Delivery.

Please do let know your comments!

    Hi Marcelo,

Thanks a bunch for this!!! I’ve downloaded it, but before extracting, can you tell me if you can import into Parallels desktop VM or must it be just using Oracle’s Virtual Box?

    Regards,
    Ariq

Well, I created in Virtual Box, and exported using OVA – Open Virtualization Format… I’m not sure if works or not, but, you can try and tell us!

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m having trouble joining the files back together. I’ve tried Winzip Mac, Winzip PC, and AJoiner Mac but nothing has worked. Can you suggest a utility to combine the files back? Once I can get that taken care of, I will definitely attempt to bring it into Parallels and report back to everyone.

    Thanks!

erpx, I compressed the files using 7Zip, and when I need to decompress it I just choose the first file (DEMOJDE91.zip.001) and use the option Extract to… and I point to a folder. I don’t need to join all together: the 7Zip (at least) do it automatically for me.

You can download a copy from the site: 7zip.org. It’s opensource and free!

      Marcelo.

    H Marcelo,

I’ve gotten the files assembled, but unfortunately, Parallels doesn’t
support direct import of ‘.ova’ files, so I’m trying to get tech
support for a workaround. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks Marcelo. I successfully downloaded JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 DEMO Virtual Machine. Do you have the step by step instructions for login to JDE using url

    rajjde,

I don’t understand your question. If you log in into JDE fat client, just select EnterpriseOne menu and the Web interface will load normally.

      rajjde,

I’m glad that everything is working as expected. After many hours of downloading, uploading, screen capture, and so on, I guess we finally reach a working guide and we able to help many others that are trying to use JDE to study or improve their skills.

      Kind Regards,

    Hi,

I have a WinXP 32 bit m/c and I have downloaded and extracted the VM file (532b2b25-0d1d-42c9-88a7-8a14a042d334}.vmdk)into my external HDD (size ~ 45GB). I ran it using virtual box but it is showing me ‘Windows is loading file’ screen since last 3 hrs. Am I missing something? Do I need to have Win7 on my m/c?

    Thanks

I tried right now to log on in Windows and the password is the word ‘password’ (without single quote). The other users are tried and logged with success using this user credentials too. Sorry for ask, but… did you tried to check your PC keyboard? maybe some key malfunction… I don’t know.

    Hello Marcelo,

many thx for the VM, everything worked fine.

But now I got an issue, maybe you have an idea. When I start a program, let
me say Address Book or Item Master, and I select a Cat Code to see the UDC,
this works fine. But in case I want to add a value to an UDC, it hangs
    and does not continue.

A workaround, that works mostly but not always was to inquire all entries of
the UDC, then revision, then again go the end, and then ADD….

If I use FP to work with UDC, I have no problem.

    Have I overseen something?

    Thanks
    Erwin

Need help – Can you please explain in detail about how to register and download this from wordpress?

I registered and logged in; however the download link was no where in sight.

One More Doubt – The Windows password is: password

If I am not wrong, this is a password for OS in VM. Am I correct?

hi,Marcelo Santos , when I login the JDE demo, I input the USER ‘DEMO’, the password ‘DEMO’, but, I can’t login, and JDE show some caution:first is that unable to send message to security server, second is that failed to communicate with security server:unable to send message to security server, third is that JD Edward enterpriseone could not sign you on, make sure your user ID is correct and retype your password.
IF I input a wrong PWD?

    thans!

    Hi Jason,
what you get is “normal”. After you see the Logon-Screen, give it a few moments (maybe 30 seconds, depends on the speed of your Box). This time is needed to start the Security Server in the Background.
DEMO/DEMO should be fine and never expire.

The JDE DEMO 9.1 is a 64 Bit Machine, so, your SO must be a 64 bit (Windows or Linux) to be able to run the 64 bit DEMO 9.1.

      Hello,

Yes, you can build BSFN. All that you need is to install Visual Studio C++. You don’t need to install all other languages (C#, VB.NET, etc.) just C++.

Don’t forget: this machine was built some months ago… Maybe the Windows need the urgent activation… But this step is up to you.

The C++ must be installed where DEMO is installed. If you use the VM, then you need to install in DEMO instance. Otherwise, in your PC.

    Hi,
I tried to access from other guest and I got an error when login with DEMO user:

Sign In Error: An unknown JAS sign in error occurred. Please contact the System Administrator.

I had a look to jas_xxx.log and I saw this:

The only adjustment I did to virtual machine is to change password for database user JDEDATA910 as it warned me about password expiration when I logged with SQL Developer.

Do I have to adjust anything in jas.ini or jdbj files?

    Thanks in advance
